SUMMARY:Demystifying Digital Dentistry: Achieving accurate\, consistent\, patient-specific results in a digital workflow with Seth Atkins\, DDS
DESCRIPTION:Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM\nFriday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM \nTuition: $1495/doctors; $195/auxiliary\nCE Credits: 16 \nCourse Description\nThis unique course will present participants with the opportunity to learn scanning and in-office printing with an elevated level of accuracy and predictable results. Students will have the opportunity to practice and compare multiple scanners and printer options. Doctors at every level will be challenged to learn better scan techniques and obtain consistent bite records\, all while learning how to transfer the relationship to the digital and analog articulator of their choice. Advanced demonstrations and techniques will include the use of CBCT scans and jaw-tracking technology to replicate the condylar movements digitally and translate them into the analog world. In-house 3D printing techniques will be discussed with a focus on how to use them to maximize workflow efficiency. This course has been designed from the restorative perspective\, addressing the issues that create inconsistencies within the current digital workflow. \nParticipants will leave with increased confidence and a clear understanding of: \n• Intraoral scanning from basic to advanced applications\n• Best techniques for accurate impression and bite scans\n• How to properly retract\, scan\, and mark margins digitally\n• Best techniques for the digital facebow transfer\n• Digital photography and its significance within the digital workflow\n• Why you should have a basic in-house 3D printer to maximize efficiency\n• How to utilize 3D printing for phasing comprehensive treatment\n• Time-saving options for efficient provisional restorations\n• Taking your digital workflow to the next level with advanced technology \nIn addition to the discussion\, participants will utilize intraoral scanners\, a leaf gauge\, and a digital facebow. Students will also have hands-on exercises involving 3D printing and finishing of printed shell temps\, occlusal splints\, and provisionals.  \nDr. Seth Atkins is a General Dentist in Waxahachie\, Texas\, graduating near the top of his class from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. Seth has extensive training in the digital workflow for new patient diagnostics\, treatment planning\, appliance fabrication\, orthodontic treatment\, implant treatment and restorative dentistry. Seth is a visiting faculty member at Spear Education and a faculty member of the Chicago Study Club.
